Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and rivers. It is threatened by habitat loss. ''Alexteroon jynx'' is part of the Hyperoliidae family of brightly colored frogs which can range from small to medium in size. It lays eggs in a group on a leaf, which hatch into tadpoles and fall off into the water.
